Outreach Opportunities

Qualifiers love to have support from the FIRST Community.

  • Individual team members can volunteer to work as an event volunteer. Roles include referee (requires training), timekeeper, field reset and more.
  • Teams are also a great source of excitement when they demo at the Qualifiers. Students love to see “the big kids” and the more advanced robots. You can be an inspiration for students to continue to participate in FIRST.
  • FIRST LEGO League – Eastern Missouri event schedule will be available on this site.  The qualifiers will be in STL metro and Cape Girardeau.
  • FIRST LEGO League – Central Missouri event schedule will be available at ?  They will be in Rolla, Nixa, Columbia and Camdenton.
  • FIRST LEGO League – Kansas City event schedule will be available at www.kcfirst.org
Competition Outline

Overview

We offer a unique model of competition for Missouri and Kansas teams. (We may allow out-state teams to register in our events if there is additional capacity.)

Teams may play in any Qualifier.  Select the date and location that works for your team. Teams advance directly to State Championship.

Teams may play in any Meet. Choose 0, 1 or 2 Meets anywhere in MO/KS.  You are not limited to any specific geography. Teams advance to a Conference Qualifier.

All our teams are given a Conference designation based on their geographic location.  We basically divide the state into 4 sections and name them Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, and Southeast.  This designation only matters when advancing from Meet play to Conference Qualifiers. There is an East and a West Conference Qualifier. QP and RP rankings are used. MOFTCScores will be updated the day after every event. Teams that have advanced from a Qualifier are removed from the Conference Qualifier rankings.

Conference Qualifiers advance to State Championship.

State Championship advances to the SOUTH Super-Regional in Athens, GA. Event runs March 8-10, 2018. Event website.

South Super-Regional advances to the FIRST Championship in Houston, TX. Event runs April 18-21, 2018. Event website.
