Drink in the 2017/2018 HYDRO DYNAMICS℠ season and learn all about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it. In the 2017/2018 FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, students age 9 to 14 from 80 countries will make a splash with HYDRO DYNAMICS. What might become possible when we understand what happens to our water?
Our region is organized by a dedicated group of volunteers who meet year-round to prepare for the competition season. Many of us are former FIRST LEGO League coaches and we are always willing to help any questions which may not be addressed in your Team Resource Page.
Over 250 FIRST LEGO League teams are expected to compete in the Eastern Missouri Region during the 2017/2018 season. Once the limit is met, National Registration will close for our region.

Events for our region are booked and scheduled in advance. Our policy is that no event is ever rescheduled. Event managers have the authority to cancel an event if their facility determines conditions to be unsafe. This policy would apply to inclement weather or any other public safety issue. If an event is not cancelled, it is up to the discretion of the parents and coach to determine if they will attend. No refunds will be given in these situations.
Although not strictly required, our judges belief the RDES is extremely helpful for teams. The RDES can be found in the current season Challenge Information from the FIRST inspires website.
Although creating a Core Value Poster can be an enriching activity, our region does not use it as part of the Core Value Judging Sessions. If you create one, please leave it at your pit area for others learn about your team
This depends upon the venue. Some rooms are very small, so the Tournament Director and Judge Adviser might only allow the team members and one or two coaches into the room.
Some venues will offer teams a prepaid sack lunch option. Other venues may have a concession stand or cafeteria. Some venues will not allow outside food. Please read your Information Packet for details or contact your Tournament Director
Please read your Info Packet or contact the Tournament Director. Some of the pit areas will be very small and practice mats might not be allowed. If you are allowed to bring a mat, we do ask that it be shared with other teams.
Rubrics will be available after the Award Ceremony and are to be picked up at the event. Please understand that due to limited resources, we will not be able to mail unclaimed rubrics.
