AQUA ADVENTURE Season Documents

What are the AQUA ADVENTURE challenge updates?

It’s all good! FIRST LEGO League Jr. just keeps getting better every season. Here’s what’s been updated from last season:

  • Bring on the tech! The AQUA ADVENTURE season requires teams to use WeDo or WeDo 2.0 in the challenge model. Don’t worry, kids love to code and the guide books have been updated to incorporate their usage in the challenge.
  • Challenge categories are now Explore, Create/Test, and Share.
  • Teams will receive an additional Engineering Notebook; total of 7 so the coach/mentor can have one too.
  • The inspire model is now an inspire set. It has over 700 building elements and 6 small gray baseplates.
  • Using all the provided baseplates increases the model footprint to a maximum 30×15. Baseplates can be used in any combination and position.
  • The resource material is now posted publicly on the FIRST website.

Official Expo Info

Quick look at Official Expos in our region

FIRST LEGO League Jr. wants and encourages a diverse ecosystem of thinkers. Bringing these teams together at an official expo is that ‘lightbulb’ moment when you understand FIRST is ‘More than Robots’!

Our all volunteer FIRST LEGO League Jr. committee is passionate about fostering an inclusive and creative learning culture. The dates and venues are scheduled in advance but may change due to team enrollment. In most cases, 9-12 teams take part in an expo. Who are our volunteer reviewers? Typically they are professionals in the field and dedicated high school students from other FIRST programs; all knowledgable and sensitive to the feelings of the children. Caring and fun is a priority!

FIRST LEGO League Jr. official expos will be posted in the calendar and are open to the public at no charge.
